At 12 noon on Friday, July 4th, an iconic historic sign that once stood along SR 109 for nearly seventy years will be unveiled by the Museum of the North Beach. This exhibit will be on the New Museum Depot property between Chapel by the Sea and Ocean Crest Resort on SR 109 in Moclips. The sign began to fall apart so in July 2019, the Washington State Dept. of Transportation and a private property owner gave Moclips by the Sea Historical Society permission to save it. With the help of many, the heavy planks were removed to the new Museum site, installed on 16' posts embedded in concrete with an added roof and repainted back to its original glory. Everyone who attends will be given a special handout detailing the history of the sign, an opportunity to explore the four parcels of land donated for the new museum and view the inside of the recently repainted 1910 Norther Pacific Railway caboose.
