One person is hospitalized after a two-alarm house fire in Aberdeen Thursday afternoon.

One person is hospitalized after a two-alarm house fire in Aberdeen Thursday afternoon. Fire crews responded to the 1800 block of West 6th Street, where heavy smoke and flames prompted additional support from multiple agencies. Officials say the occupant made it out but went back inside to rescue a pet and suffered critical injuries before being taken to the hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Fire officials are reminding residents never to reenter a burning home and to have an escape plan in place.
