The city of Aberdeen will receive a portion of $1.7 million in grant funds from the department of commerce to implement a housing action plan to help address the growing challenge of affordable housing. Aberdeen is getting $25,000 to implement approved strategies that will help meet housing needs in the city. The grants announced this week were from the second round of funding. Back in November of 2021, $3.5 million was awarded to 44 communities across the state.
