Firefighters in Hoquiam are getting a high-tech boost to help them respond more quickly to emergencies. The Hoquiam Fire Department says new computer-aided dispatch systems are now installed in all of its emergency vehicles after a three-year rollout. The technology gives crews real-time call details along with building plans, hydrant locations and hazard information. Officials say the system will help firefighters make faster decisions when they arrive on scene.
