Deputies in Thurston County say a man tried to run off on foot after flipping a car after running over spike strips. The Thurston County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a stolen Ford F350 pickup on Saturday. Deputies attempted to pull it over, but the driver fled. Deputies used spike strips that punctured one of the tires and the driver kept going. The suspect ran from the wreck but was caught by deputies. A search found possible cocaine and a screwdriver in the suspect's pocket. Charges include eluding police, vehicle theft, and hit and run with injury.
