A scam alert Grays Harbor PUD. Officials say they have received multiple reports of individuals claiming to work for the PUD, trying to gain entry to a customer’s homes to replace utility equipment. Over the past week, multiple customers say they were visited by an individual offering to sell a new, roof-mounted electricity meter to the customer. The PUD has no affiliation with companies who offer to replace meters at a lower cost and when the PUD does replace equipment, official PUD staff are dispatched to do such work during regular business hours. Customers should never give credit card or personal banking information to anyone and instead call PUD Customer Service to verify the claim.
