More than 80 chickens have been seized in an animal fighting and drug trafficking investigation in the Oakville area. Grays Harbor deputies, along with JNET and DEA agents, searched two properties earlier this month and found 87 chickens, 81 of them roosters believed to be used for illegal fights. Investigators also seized paraphernalia linked to animal fighting, and charges are pending. Most of the birds have since been turned over to Heartwood Haven, a nonprofit working to rehabilitate the birds .
