The Washington Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Agriculture say repeated trapping hasn't found any northern giant hornets.

The Murder Hornet has been eradicated from Washington state. The Washington Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Agriculture say repeated trapping hasn't found any northern giant hornets. They attack and kill other bees, including honeybees, that are key pollinators. They can also swarm and attack people. They were first detected in Washington in 2019. A total of four nests were destroyed.
