The Hoquiam City Council has approved an $837,000 bid to get the Queen Ave Stormwater Pump station built. The bid was approved this week and is fully funded thanks to a Chehalis Basin Flood Authority grant worth $1.2 million. This pump station is part of the larger North Shore Levee West Project. There's no word on when the work on the Queen Ave. pump station will get started, some of the work requires digging dozens of feet into the ground and is weather dependent.
