The Hoquiam City Council has removed a members due to poor attendance. At this week’s meeting, council members voted to remove Ward 4 councilman Maxwell Davis after Davis had 3 unexcused absences from three consecutive council meetings. In Washington State, a councilmember can be voted out of office for 3 unexcused absences in a row. Now, any qualifying resident in Ward 4 can apply to be on the council. There is no specific deadline to apply, and the person chosen would serve out the remainder of the term, until December 2025
