Service to transport patients to other hospital facilities when needed.
Summit Pacific Medical Center is partnering with a private ambulance service to transport patients to other hospital facilities when needed. Olympic Ambulance, which operates in Thurston, Kitsap, Mason, Clallum and now Grays Harbor County can provide both Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support transports. Since Summit Medical is a smaller hospital system, there are times when patients require a high level of care or need a service not provided by Summit Medical. Most patients will be transferred from the Emergency Department, and it will be up to the staff to decide when a transport is needed. The hospital formed the partnership because they were having trouble getting a transport when they needed one. The partnership with Olympic Ambulance took effect as of May 1st.
