Money to fight salmon eating sea lions on the lower Columbia River and its tributaries gets approval from the state Senate.
Money to fight salmon eating sea lions on the lower Columbia River and its tributaries gets approval from the state Senate. Sen. Jeff Wilson says the region loses 12 percent of its salmon to hungry sea lions. The Longview Republican was able to persuade his Senate colleagues to add 1-point-5-million-dollars to combat sea lion predation to the Senate Budget. Wilson hopes the funding remains in the final state spending plan being negotiated by Senate and House budget leaders.
