Hoquiam police now say the driver in Saturday’s crash on Sumner Avenue wasn’t to blame. Witnesses backed that up, and a Drug Recognition Expert found no signs of impairment or reckless driving. The pedestrian is still in serious but stable condition at a Seattle hospital, though family says the long road ahead comes with a good chance of full recovery. Investigators will talk with the pedestrian once doctors give the okay.
