The first call came around 1am to a house fire in Westport.
Several fires in Grays Harbor yesterday were blamed on fireworks. The first call came around 1am to a house fire in Westport. Crews say the fire was in a detached garage and that everyone inside the home, including pets, made it out safely. It took firefighters around 15 minutes to extinguish the flames and although an investigation is still underway, officials on scene say it was likely improper firework disposal that started the fire. Later in the day Aberdeen fire responded to a brush fire in South Aberdeen after fireworks were set off in some tall grass. No one was hurt in either incident.
