A recently released report from the city of Ocean Shores says overall, the city saw a revenue increase in 2021. According to numbers released in the April edition of “The Shores Insider”, the city saw increases in most categories including a 20 percent increase real estate excise tax, a 15 percent increase in gasoline taxes and a 16 percent in hotel/motel taxes. One area that saw a a decrease in revenue was building permits. City leaders say that may be partly to blame on the increased price of building materials since right after the state of the pandemic.
