The Mason County Sheriff’s office says thanks to tips from the community, they have a suspect in custody from a reported sexual assault this week.

The incident happened on Wednesday in Shelton where a man sexually assaulted an underage girl he approached at a local park. The sheriff’s office released information about the suspect to the media and online Thursday. The Mason County Sheriff’s office gave an update within 12 hours to say thanks to tips from the community, a suspect was taken into custody without incident.
