The Pacific County Sheriff’s Office says a 31-year-old man is now in jail after a shoplifting incident at Jack’s Country Store in Ocean Park turned violent. Investigators say he tried to walk off with roughly eighty-four dollars in merchandise Monday afternoon, then attacked the owner and another person who stepped in. That use of force bumped the case up from shoplifting to second-degree robbery. Deputies tracked him down and booked him into the Pacific County Jail.
