The Aberdeen Police Department is currently recruiting for its Police Cadet Program, which gives local youth an inside look at law enforcement. Cadets train in radio procedures, de-escalation tactics, property crime investigation, and high-risk incidents, while also taking part in patrol ride-alongs. Those ride-alongs include helping with traffic control, radio use, and paperwork. Many former cadets are now serving in law enforcement, and applications are being accepted by emailing the department.
