A 32-year-old man accused of a violent assault in Hoquiam was taken into custody Tuesday night after a brief standoff.

Hoquiam police are releasing details about an incident earlier this week. A 32-year-old man accused of a violent assault in Hoquiam was taken into custody Tuesday night after a brief standoff. Police say two people suffered serious head injuries during an attack at a home on Aberdeen Avenue. The suspect was spotted in a taxi and stopped by the Aberdeen Regional Special Response Team on Sumner Avenue. He surrendered without incident, and the investigation is still ongoing.
