Hoquiam Police Department Earns 3rd Reaccreditation

At last week’s conference in Kennewick, retired chief Jeff Chief Myers was also recognized for his 32 years of law enforcement service and the 13 years spent as chairman of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.

The Hoquiam Police Department just hit a major benchmark, earning its third reaccreditation from the state’s top law-enforcement standards group. HPD first became accredited in 2013 and has kept that status through tough reviews in 2017, 2021, and now 2025, meeting every one of the 146 best-practice requirements. At last week’s conference in Kennewick, retired chief Jeff Chief Myers was also recognized for his 32 years of law enforcement service and the 13 years spent as chairman of the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.
