We told you this week layoffs were coming to Timberland Regional Library, and now we’re learning more about what that looks like. The Daily World reports 61 frontline workers are losing their jobs, with most of those cuts hitting in mid-May due to a major budget gap. In Grays Harbor County, libraries in McCleary and Amanda Park will move to a staffless, self-service setup. Leaders say it’s about keeping the system afloat, but many worry it means less help and fewer services for rural communities.
