PCEMA issues a press released regarding high winds.
The National Weather Service Office in Portland, Oregon has issued a High Wind Warning for the Coastal areas of Pacific County. The warning is in effect from 4:00 p.m. today, December 16, 2025, until 4:00 a.m. tomorrow, December 17. The forecast calls for south winds 25-40 mph with gusts to 60 mph. Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches. Use caution if you must drive. A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring in those areas in the coastal communities of Pacific County.
