The 63rd annual McCleary Bear Festival kicks off today. The three-day event is promised to be bigger and better this year. Organizers say with no COVID restrictions this year there will be more vendors and the parade will be larger. Today, the 2022 Senior Queen of Bear Festival will be crowned and the weekend softball tournament between the McCleary police and fire department will get underway. Tomorrow at noon it’s the Grand Parade followed by the bear stew with baked beans, a roll and watermelon for only $3.
