70-Home Development In McCleary One Step Closer

The Boundary Review Board is preparing to approve the city's annexation of nearly 43 acres.

A proposed 70-home development in McCleary is one step closer to moving forward. The Daily World reports the Boundary Review Board is preparing to approve the city's annexation of nearly 43 acres along North Summit Road. Some residents worry development could threaten the Wildcat Creek aquifer, McCleary's only source of drinking water. City officials argue bringing the property into McCleary would actually provide more protection by connecting future homes to city water and sewer instead of wells and septic systems. The board continues the hearing September 2nd.
