Aberdeen Makes February 20th "Kurt Cobain Day"

There’s a new declaration in Aberdeen that makes February 20th Kurt Cobain Day in town.

There’s a new declaration in Aberdeen that makes February 20th Kurt Cobain Day in town. At this week’s city council meeting, there was a unanimous vote by councilmembers to make the Nirvana front man and Aberdeen native’s birthday the official day to celebrate the life, and music of Kurt Cobain. This follows a similar proclamation made back in 2014 by then Aberdeen mayor Bill Simpson. That same year Nirvana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Cobain died in 1994 and this coming February 20th, he would’ve turned 56 years old.
