Apartment Fire In Aberdeen Under Investigation

Just before 2:30pm Friday fire crews were called out to the building on North C Street.

The cause of an apartment fire from Friday afternoon in Aberdeen is still under investigation this morning.  Just before 2:30pm Friday fire crews were called out to the building on North C Street.  Firefighters saw smoke coming from inside when they arrived, and residents were already in the process of evacuation.  17 fire fighters from Aberdeen, Hoquiam and Grays Harbor Fire District # 2 responded and a press release said it took crews about an hour to knock out the fire.  Luckily no residents or fire fighters were injured, there were working smoke detectors in the building.  Eleven residents were displaced and at last check The American Red Cross was helping those in need.  It’s estimated there was about $50,000 in damage dome to the building.
