Car Thefts Up 90% Since Laws Went Into Effect

Hoquiam Police release report on vehicle thefts in the state.

Hoquiam Police want to help you not become a statistic. The department has released data that says reports of vehicle thefts throughout Washington increased by over 90 percent since a series of laws that hinder police from going after a suspected stolen car went into effect in the summer of 2021. Hoquiam PD reminds drivers to never leave your car running when you are not in it, always hide your valuables and lock your car doors every time you get out. You can see more helpful tips by going to the Hoquiam Police Facebook page.
