Chehalis Middle School Student Serves As Page For Rep. Joel McEntire

A student at Chehalis Middle School, recently served as a page in the Washington State House of Representatives.

Jack Robison, 14, a student at Chehalis Middle School, recently served as a page in the Washington State House of Representatives. He was sponsored by Rep. Joel McEntire, R-Cathlamet.

Each year, students from around the state apply to participate in the Legislative Page Program. Students spend a week attending page school, where they learn the inner workings of state government, and assist legislators on the House floor. Students also draft legislation and present their bills in a mock committee hearing to fellow pages.

"Jack showed great understanding of government and the political process in discussions we had about his proposed legislation," said McEntire. "I am sure Washington state will be seeing more of Jack in the years to come."

Jack is the son of Clint and Katie Robison.

Pages earn $50 per day while serving in the program. To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor, be between the ages of 14 and 16, and obtain written permission from their parents and school.
