A burglary alarm in Aberdeen turns out to be a church fire. Aberdeen police responded to a burglary alarm around 2:30 Wednesday morning in the 300 block of West 1st Street. When police arrived, they saw fire coming from the United Christian church and called the fire department. Firefighters from Aberdeen, Hoquiam and Cosmopolis were dispatched to the call. The fire was under control within 30 minutes but there was significant damage done to the church. There were no injuries reported to civilians or first responders. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
