The Elma Police Department is reminding residents of the importance of the Police Replacement Levy request that will be on the ballot in the upcoming election. In a post to social media, Elma Police Chief Susan Schultz said the $250,000 levy is vital to keeping the department operating at current levels. Right now, the city is manned by 5 officers, 2 sergeants, 2 police clerks and the chief and the city expects to respond to 6,000 calls in 2022.
