Grays Harbor 911 Using Virtual Assistant For Non-Emergency Line

AVA can speak more than 45 languages, gather information and create a service request without putting callers through a phone tree.

Grays Harbor 911 is now using a virtual assistant to handle calls to its non-emergency line. AVA can speak more than 45 languages, gather information and create a service request without putting callers through a phone tree. If the system detects a possible emergency, it’ll transfer the caller to a dispatcher. Officials stress that nothing changes for 911 calls. Those will still be answered by trained human telecommunicators.
