Shawn Hill is stepping up as Grays Harbor County’s new treasurer after earning a 2-1 vote from the Board of County Commissioners. Hill, the former Chief Deputy Treasurer, was one of three Democratic nominees to replace Ken Albert, who resigned June 30. Hill’s appointment followed two rounds of public interviews and a closed executive session. District 3 Commissioner Vickie Raines voted no but commended the open selection process.
