Hoquiam police catch a bicycle thief, thanks in part to a homeowner’s security camera. Just before 7am Thursday officers were called to a home on 2nd Street on reports that a bicycle was stolen from a carport. The victim caught the person stealing the bike on a security camera and showed that to police. Officers said the suspect was known to law enforcement and went directly to that person’s house. When they arrived, they not only found the stolen bike in plain view from the street, but when they entered the house, the suspect was there, wearing the same clothing he had on in the security footage. He was arrested and the bicycle was returned to its owner.
