There was a hung jury in the murder trial of a man accused of killing Steve Button last year outside of a bar in Hoquiam. On Tuesday the jury in the Michael Moore trial said they could not reach a verdict. Moore is accused of murder in the shooting death of Steve Button after the two got into an altercation at the Ace of Clubs Tavern in Hoquiam the night of September 15th, 2022. The prosecution says Moore kept escalating the incident until it turned deadly while the defense maintains Moore shot Button in self-defense. The jury deliberated for part of Friday, as well as Monday and Tuesday without reaching a verdict. Prosecutors will decide on a possible re-trial in the coming days.
