The McCleary Fire Department knocked down a brushfire in just over an hour on Tuesday. Yesterday, just before noon a call came in about a fire on a neighbor’s property just north of town. The Daily World reports the property owner was burning yard waste when he lost control of the fire and it quickly spread due mainly to high winds. By 1:45pm in the afternoon, fire crews had cleared the scene of what was estimated to be a 2.5 acre brushfire. Fire Chief Nott gave special thanks to neighbors for coming out to assist fire fighters.
