Ocean Shores police are clearing up confusion over license plate reader cameras in the city. The department says it does not operate any Flock Safety cameras, and the only Flock camera in Ocean Shores belonged to the Grays Harbor County Sheriff's Office and has now been removed. Police say the city has installed its own Axon license plate reader cameras, but they haven't been activated yet because officers still need to complete required training. Once the system goes live, the department says it will hold more public discussions about how the cameras work and the privacy safeguards that are in place.
