Olympic Stadium Needs Help And Hoquiam To Host Workshop

Structural repairs, building ADA restroom facilities and replacing the shingle at the front entrance are just some of the items on the list.

Hoquiam city leaders say they need more money to complete the renovations to the historic Olympic stadium. Structural repairs, building ADA restroom facilities and replacing the shingle at the front entrance are just some of the items on the list.  Since the stadium is registered o the national list of historic places, there are certain guidelines that must be followed and the cost for some of those requirements is high.  While over $900,000 in grants have been given for the project, the city must raise an additional $735,000 to complete the siding work. The mayor and city council will hold a workshop on June 13th before the regular meeting to discuss funding options. If any businesses or groups would like to donate, you’re asked to please contact the city of Hoquiam.
