National recognition for the outgoing director for the Port of Grays Harbor. Last week The American Association of Port Authorities presented retiring executive director Gary Nelson with a Distinguished Service Award at its Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C. Nelson, who joined the port of Grays Harbor in 2000, called it an honor and a privilege to be recognized by his Port industry colleagues. Nelson officially retires from the port on March 31st, after which current Deputy Executive Director Leonard Barnes will take over.
