Simpson Bridge Detour Coming On Monday

Drivers who use the US 101 Simpson Avenue Bridge in Hoquiam will want to plan additional travel time this coming Monday. That’s because from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 14, the Simpson Avenue bridge will close to all traffic for a routine inspection. During the closure, the US 101 Riverside Bridge will be reconfigured to accommodate two-way traffic. Officials say the inspection requires daylight to see inside tight spaces and get detailed observations of bridge components and operations.
