New details could come out today after a tense standoff in Aberdeen ended in tragedy yesterday afternoon. Police responded to a shooting on W. 2nd Street, where they rescued two wounded victims before surrounding the home, believing the suspect was still inside. After failed attempts to make contact, officers entered and found the suspect dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both victims were treated at the hospital, while the nearby elementary school was briefly placed on lockdown as a precaution.
