The 2023 FoodBall food donation drive is complete, and the numbers are in.
The 2023 FoodBall food donation drive is complete, and the numbers are in. Last night, Hoquiam and Aberdeen students and staff came together to weigh in for 6,236 lbs. of nonperishable food items and over $125,000 in funds. Organizers say each dollar is worth around 10 lbs. of food. Inflation and a slowing economy are said to be reasons why this year’s numbers didn’t beat 2022. Last year there was 5,600 lbs. of food collected but more than $145,000 in cash donations.
