The Mason County Sheriff’s Department is working on an animal cruelty investigation that involves 60 animals, mostly dogs. Officials say law enforcement was on a property yesterday in the Grapeview area and are treating this as a criminal investigation. At least one person has been taken into custody and officials are reaching out to the Humane society and others for help in taking care of most of the animals found on the property. No names have been released as of this report and the Mason County Sheriff’s office has said an update will be coming soon
