Aberdeen issues a hiring freeze for all non “mission Critical” positions. The Daily World reports the mayor and city council voted to freeze all hiring for vacant City of Aberdeen positions that are non-mission critical” jobs. That means they can still replace police and firefighters. The city says it is dealing with a $ 3 million budget shortfall and this was one of the solutions. There’s no defined timeline of when the freeze will end, but city leaders indicated it could last into next year.
