After more than a century of service, local policing in Cosmopolis has officially ended.

As we ring in the new year we say goodbye to a local police force. After more than a century of service, local policing in Cosmopolis has officially ended. The Cosmopolis Police Department shut down at midnight December 31st, marking the closure of a 134-year chapter in the city’s history. Officials say financial pressures and staffing realities drove the decision. All police services are now provided by the Aberdeen Police Department.
