A suspicious backpack led wildlife officers to a major illegal crab haul at the Westport Marina. An officer found 67 crabs stashed in a backpack, buckets and coolers, with only two legal to keep. Most were undersized, and the haul also included female and soft-shell crabs. The fisher was criminally cited for several violations, including possessing more than twice the daily limit. Officers released the other 65 crabs back into the marina.
