The bridge, now back in full service.
Aberdeen’s historic Wishkah River Bridge, the oldest movable bridge in Grays Harbor County, just turned 100 and received emergency repairs this week after cracks and decay were found in a steel beam. WSDOT says crews worked for 12 hours to fasten steel plates to the damaged beam, allowing the recent weight restriction to be lifted. The bridge, now back in full service, is one of five aging movable bridges on state routes in the county, with state officials saying each faces its own maintenance challenges.
