Grays Harbor County Administrator Sam Kim has resigned from his position

His resignation comes just days after the City of Snoqualmie announced he was one of three finalists for its city administrator position.

Grays Harbor County Administrator Sam Kim has resigned from his position, effective at the close of business today. Kim had served as county administrator since August 2024. His resignation comes just days after the City of Snoqualmie announced he was one of three finalists for its city administrator position. During his tenure, Kim helped guide the county through several major challenges and initiatives. As the county entered the 2026 budget cycle facing a projected $8.5 million deficit, departments were directed to reduce proposed budgets by 15%. Kim also stepped in to oversee licensing responsibilities amid ongoing issues within the County Auditor’s Office. In addition, he played a key role in helping the Board of County Commissioners develop strategic plans and mission statements, while also leading efforts to hire Grays Harbor County’s first-ever chief operating officer.
