The Pacific County Sheriff’s Department is clarifying why they were calling for search volunteers this weekend. The search was an effort to find the remains of a missing man, Eric Veith, who has not been seen since June of 2021. At the end of March, a citizen found a wallet that belonged to Veith near Ilwaco, the last place he had been since. Search crews from near and far came out this weekend to help search and there were human remains found according to the Pacific County Sheriff’s Department. At this point the sheriff’s office is processing the scene and will update the public as soon as there is additional information.
