There were no major injuries reported after a call of a structure fire Thursday morning in Westport. 15 firefighters from The South Beach Regional Fire Authority responded to the scene after the call came in by a neighbor about the fire around 9:15 Thursday morning. Two residents were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene but declined to go to the hospital. The residents had no smoke alarms. A preliminary investigation shows the possible cause being a malfunctioning or misused extension cord but so far there’s no official word on what sparked the blaze.
