Pacific County emergency crews were sent on a frustrating search in late March after a series of 911 texts, that officials say was possibly a hoax. A single number made 11 calls or texts, many of them silent, forcing dispatchers to treat them as open emergency lines. Authorities said if it was a prank, it wasted valuable time and resources and is serious enough to possible warrant criminal charges.
